here is a teaser

In Jungian psychology, the shadow is the instinctive, irrational, unconscious aspect of the personality, both “a reservoir for darkness” and “the seat of creativity.” That characterization works as a visual metaphor in Plato’s Dogs: “Dogs are a creation of humans — bred for herding, sheep-hunting, sitting in our laps — but lurking inside, there there’s still this other wild thing,” Roma says. “The shadows, being such primitive drawings, make us aware that they’re also related to the wolf and the coyote.”

Sting nails it-

To the question of whether a songwriter is limited by his ability to write new songs, he said, “No. There is no limit. Songwriting is like an ocean. It is endless.”

I like these ten songwriting tips.

Need them.

Really need song finishing tips.

I have been in a funky state of mind lately.

Business and politics.

Both suck. Hard to protect yourself from the smothering rancid fog.

My mind just doesn't feel like being creative.

Get two or three couplets then I quit.

Maybe 10 radios at once?

I'll be ok.

Writing about it cleared the fog a bit.

The Beau Brummels 1964 hit single Laugh Laugh

got them famous.

They slowly turned psychedelic.

Like the other San Francisco bands.

This is a cool song from their 4th album Triangle.

I love these lyrics!

The Wolf Of Velvet Fortune
Sal Valentino, Ron Elliott

The air is full of strangeness,
An unfamiliar breeze blows
From deep within a forest.
I think I'll go to see.

What's this before me
In shadows where no wind blows?
A crying, frightened flower
Without a gentle breeze.

She's crying for the sunlight,
That shadow left behind him.
She's crying for the coolness
Of wind she's never seen.

The day is getting longer.
The day is slowly dark now.
The moon a silver bubble
That watches all it sees.

Delight! Delight!
The wolf of velevet fortune is upon his merry flight!
Goodnight! Goodnight!
He travels in the beauty of the silver-glowing night!
Delight!

The flower speaks in silence.
She bends herself in sorrow.
His eyes behold her wildness,
Electrifies the air.

He moves the earth around her,
Confiding her with whispers.
He takes her from the shadows
And thickness that is there.

Swiftly! Swiftly!
Through the brush and bramble land
Under! Over!
Flashing in and out, they fly!

Moonlight! Moonlight!
See the bright star shining so
Clearly! Clearly!
Floating in the sky!

He brings her to a meadow
where the grass is tall and waving.
A tear comes to her eye
As she looks upon her throne.

And in a distant murmur,
A breeze begins its blowing.
The sun begins its rising.
The velvet wolf has flown.

Delight! Delight!
The wolf of velevet fortune is upon his merry flight!
Goodnight! Goodnight!
He travels in the beauty of the silver-glowing night!
Delight!
