Like a man fresh out of a hot sand sun baked desert, my thirst for soul fueled music is unquenchable. When I discover an artist that goosebumps my spirit I feel rescued. Rob McNurlin is very special in many ways and I will be talking about him quite a bit down the road. Here is a little Saturday morning taste to spice up your corn flakes.
Lonesome Valley Again
Rob McNurlin
The pumpin' howl of a harmonium
The silver tongue of a painted woman
Whiskey wheeze of old bootlegers
Ax grindin' of the lumber jackers
Burned out homeplace on the farm
All the tares among the corn
Tryin' to find a long lost friend
You've reached that lonesome valley again
The timeless tick of grandfathers clock
The pantomime of the parrots talk
Surrealism in the midnight hour
Sadness in a wilted flower
A childs cry from her mamas knee
The whistlin' whine of the wind so free
Lookin' out for every sin
You've reached that lonesome valley again
